Synchronisation
Aligning your Mapidu data across your own devices, say a tablet and a laptop.
- Where to find it
- You control it via Menu → Settings → Synchronisation.
- How to use it
- Import the same teacher identification key on the second device first, then sync by file or on the same Wi‑Fi.
- What it does for you
- This way you have the same state everywhere, and your class data stays offline.
Your devices — same state
Tablet, laptop, phone — your data stays with you
Device A
e.g. tablet
Device B
e.g. laptop
Mapidu checks: does this file match your identification key?
No manual file copy needed
The two paths
Sync file
A file with your current state that you transfer yourself. Menu → Settings → Synchronisation → Export / Import. Export it on device A, move it by email, USB, or cloud to device B, and import it there. This way the sync works even when the devices are not on the same network.
Same Wi‑Fi
Both devices swap the data directly — same Wi‑Fi only, device to device. You start this via Menu → Settings → Synchronisation → Connect. Open both devices, start the connection, and confirm the sync. This way no file export is needed — one tap does it.
Teacher identification key
Your personal key so only your own devices match — and not an online login. You manage it via Menu → Settings → Synchronisation → Teacher key. Export it on the first device with a password and import it on the new one. This way foreign files are turned away and your data stays protected.
What is synced — and what is not
- Included: subjects, classes, students, courses, teaching projects, calendar, and tasks
- Left out on purpose: grades and written assessments — they stay on the device where you enter them
- The timetable grid stays per device too — it may look different on tablet than on PC
